1. Grind Ingredients

2. Mix Spices
Mix the ground ham mixture with freshly ground pepper, cayenne pepper, ground cloves, nutmeg, cinnamon, and tamarind paste or lemon juice.
3. Preheat Broiler
About 25 minutes before serving, preheat your broiler.
4. Toast Bread
Prepare your bread slices by placing them on a baking sheet and toasting one side under the broiler until it is lightly toasted.
5. Spread Ham Paste
Spread the ham paste evenly over the toasted side of each bread slice, aiming for a thickness of about ¼ to ⅓ inch.
6. Brush with Butter
Brush the edges of the bread with melted butter.
7. Broil Crostini
Place the prepared bread slices under the broiler for 7 to 8 minutes, watching closely until the surface turns golden brown and the paste is heated through.
