How to Make Broccoli Rabe with Garlic and Hot Pepper

    1. Prepare Broccoli Rabe

Trim the ends and cut the broccoli rabe into manageable pieces. Wash thoroughly to remove any dirt and drain well.

    2. Sauté Garlic and Pepper

In a wide sauté pan, heat 3 tablespoons of olive oil over medium heat. Add sliced dried cayenne pepper or a pinch of dried chile flakes along with coarsely chopped garlic. Sizzle briefly until fragrant.

    3. Cook Broccoli Rabe

Add the washed and drained broccoli rabe to the pan. Sprinkle with salt to taste. Cook for 4 to 12 minutes, adding a splash of water if the pan looks dry, until it reaches your preferred level of tenderness. Adjust seasoning as needed.

    4. Finish and Serve

Just before serving, stir in 1 tablespoon of extra-virgin olive oil into the sautéed broccoli rabe. Serve immediately.
