How to Make Tuscan-Style Tortellini & Sausage Skillet

    1. Heat Oil and Cook Sausage

Heat a tablespoon of extra-virgin olive oil in a 12-inch nonstick skillet over medium heat until it shimmers. Add the sweet Italian sausage, breaking it into small pieces with a spoon as it cooks. Continue cooking for about four minutes, or until the sausage is no longer pink.

    2. Add Garlic

Add the thinly sliced garlic to the skillet. Cook for about 30 seconds, just until the garlic becomes fragrant. Be careful not to overcook the garlic, as it can quickly turn bitter.

    3. Add Broth and Tortellini

Pour in the chicken broth and add the dried cheese tortellini. Bring the mixture to a boil. Let it simmer for about 15 minutes, or until the tortellini is tender.

    4. Add Cherry Tomatoes

Stir in the halved cherry tomatoes. Cook them for about two minutes, just until they start to soften slightly.

    5. Finish with Basil and Parmesan

Turn off the heat and sprinkle the dish with chopped fresh basil and grated Parmesan cheese. Serve immediately.
