How to Make Banana Oatmeal Walnut Choco-Chip Cookies

    1. Preheat Oven and Prepare Baking Sheets

Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Lightly spray two baking sheets with nonstick cooking oil spray to make sure the cookies don't stick while baking.

    2. Mash Banana and Mix Wet Ingredients

In a mixing bowl, mash one very ripe medium banana until smooth. Add 1/3 cup of canola oil, 2/3 cup of sugar, and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract to the banana. Use a strong fork to mix these wet ingredients together until well combined.

    3. Add Dry Ingredients

Add 3/4 cup plus 2 tablespoons of all-purpose flour, 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda, 1/4 teaspoon of salt, and 1/4 teaspoon of ground cinnamon to the bowl. Mix until the dry ingredients are just moistened.

    4. Incorporate Oats, Walnuts, and Chocolate Chips

Incorporate 2 cups of quick-cooking oatmeal, 1/2 cup of chopped walnuts, and 1/2 cup of chocolate chips into the dough. Use your hands or a sturdy spoon to mix everything thoroughly. If the mixture seems too slippery, add an extra 1-2 tablespoons of flour.

    5. Form and Flatten Cookie Dough

With clean, wet hands, roll the dough into balls slightly smaller than a golf ball, about 1 1/3 inches in diameter. Place them on the prepared baking sheets, leaving about 2 inches of space between each cookie. Flatten each ball slightly with your fingers.

    6. Bake and Cool Cookies

Bake the cookies in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until they are lightly browned. Remove the cookies from the oven and let them cool on the baking sheet for about 2 minutes. Then, transfer them to a cooling rack to cool completely.

    7. Store and Enjoy

Once the cookies are cool, store them in an airtight container to keep them fresh. Enjoy your homemade Banana Oatmeal Walnut Choco-Chip Cookies with a glass of milk or your favorite beverage!

    Variations

    Peanut Butter Banana Cookies

Add peanut butter to the wet ingredients and possibly peanut butter chips.

    Double Chocolate Delight

Use cocoa powder and white chocolate chips for a double chocolate experience.

    Different Chips

Try using dark chocolate chunks, white chocolate chips, or peanut butter chips instead of traditional semi-sweet chocolate chips.

    Vegan Cookies

Use vegan butter and egg substitutes like flax eggs to make the recipe vegan-friendly.

    Spice It Up

Add a teaspoon of cinnamon or pumpkin pie spice to your dough for a warm, spicy undertone.
