How to Make Cheesy Stovetop Mac with Sausage and Kale

    1. Sauté Onion

Swirl olive oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add diced onion and cook until translucent, about 4 to 5 minutes.

    2. Add Kale and Season

Stir in the chopped kale leaves and sprinkle with kosher salt. Cook until kale is wilted and tender.

    3. Build Flavor Base

Make space in the center of the pot. Add minced garlic and tomato paste, stirring constantly for 1 to 3 minutes.

    4. Brown the Sausage

Crumble the sweet Italian sausage into the pot. Sear until no longer pink, about 4 to 5 minutes.

    5. Simmer with Broth and Pasta

Stir in red-pepper flakes, then pour in chicken broth. Bring to a simmer before adding pasta. Cook according to package instructions until al dente.

    6. Add Cheese and Hot Sauce

Turn off the heat. Sprinkle in sharp Cheddar cheese, stirring until melted. Drizzle in hot sauce to taste and mix well.
