How to Make Mixed Berry Buttermilk Bliss Cake

    1. Prep and Pan

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9-inch baking dish (square or round) with oil and line with parchment paper.

    2. Batter Up

In a medium bowl, whisk together the 1/2 cup oil, buttermilk, eggs, vanilla, and 1 cup sugar until well blended.

    3. Dry Mix Magic

In a separate bowl, whisk together the 1 1/2 cups flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.

    4. Combine

Gently whisk the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients until just combined, leaving a few small lumps.

    5. Berry Toss

Lightly toss the berries with the remaining 1 tablespoon flour on a plate.

    6. Fold In

Carefully fold the berries into the batter.

    7. Bake and Sprinkle

Transfer the batter to the prepared baking dish. Evenly sprinkle the top with the remaining 2 tablespoons of sugar.

    8. Golden Finish

Bake for 53 to 58 minutes, or until golden brown and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

    9. Cool and Serve

Allow the cake to cool slightly before serving.
