How to Make Heavenly Cinnamon Cream Rolls

1. Preheat Oven and Prepare Pan

Preheat your oven to 350°F and lightly grease an 8-inch round cake pan.

2. Prepare Work Surface

Prepare your work surface by sprinkling it with almond flour. Use a large sheet of parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.

3. Roll Out Dough

Take your mozzarella dough and pat it into a rough square. Top it with another piece of parchment paper and roll it into a 12-inch square.

4. Brush with Butter

Brush the dough with melted butter using a pastry brush.

5. Add Cinnamon and Sweetener

In a small bowl, mix the granulated erythritol sweetener and ground cinnamon until well combined. Sprinkle this mixture evenly over the buttered dough.

6. Roll and Cut Dough

Roll the dough tightly from one end to the other, pinch the seam to seal, and cut it into 12 equal portions.

7. Arrange Rolls

Arrange the rolls in the greased cake pan with the cut side up, leaving about an inch of space between each roll.

8. Bake Rolls

Bake the rolls in the preheated oven for 20 to 25 minutes, or until they are golden brown and firm to the touch. Allow the rolls to cool slightly in the pan.

9. Prepare Frosting

Beat the softened cream cheese and powdered erythritol sweetener in a medium bowl using an electric mixer until smooth. Add the heavy cream and vanilla extract, and continue to beat until the mixture is creamy and well combined.

10. Frost Rolls

Spread the frosting over the warm rolls in the pan, allowing it to melt slightly into the rolls.

Pitfalls and tips

Yeast Proofing

Ensure your yeast is fresh and milk is warmed to about 110°F for proper activation. Use a digital thermometer for precision.

Cream Cheese Frosting

Use room temperature ingredients for a smooth frosting and add a pinch of salt to enhance flavors.

Flour Quality and Measurement

Use high-quality bread flour and measure by weight for the best texture and consistency.

Bake to Perfection

Verify your oven temperature with a thermometer and bake until golden brown without overbaking.

First Rise Environment

Find a warm, draft-free spot for the first rise, or use a warmed oven to create the perfect environment.
