    How to Make Sticky Buns

    1. Prepare the Dough

In a large bowl, combine the room temperature eggs, buttermilk, granulated sugar, yeast, and salt. Gradually add the flour, mixing until you achieve a soft, moist, but not sticky dough. Knead the dough until it becomes smooth and elastic, which should take about 10 minutes. Once kneaded, place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it with plastic wrap, and let it rise in a warm place until it has doubled in size.

    2. Prepare the Glaze

In a saucepan over medium heat, melt 6 tablespoons of unsalted butter. Add ¾ cup of packed light brown sugar, 3 tablespoons of corn syrup, 2 tablespoons of heavy cream, and a pinch of salt. Stir continuously until the mixture is smooth and begins to bubble gently.

    3. Prepare the Filling

In a small bowl, mix together ¾ cup of packed light brown sugar, 2 teaspoons of ground cinnamon, ¼ teaspoon of ground cloves, and a pinch of salt. Roll out the dough into a large rectangle on a floured surface. Brush the rolled-out dough with 1 tablespoon of melted butter, then sprinkle the filling mixture evenly over the dough.

    4. Roll and Cut the Dough

Roll up the dough tightly into a log and cut it into 12 even pieces. Arrange these pieces cut-side down in a greased baking dish. Cover the dish with plastic wrap and allow the buns to rise again until they are puffy and have expanded to fill the dish.

    5. Bake the Buns

While the buns are undergoing their second rise, preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). When the buns are ready, bake them for 25-30 minutes or until they are golden brown and the glaze is bubbling.

    6. Prepare the Topping

Melt 3 tablespoons of unsalted butter in a saucepan. Add ¼ cup of packed light brown sugar, 3 tablespoons of corn syrup, and a pinch of salt. Once the mixture is smooth and bubbling, stir in 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract and ¾ cup of toasted, coarsely chopped pecans.

    7. Finish the Buns

After baking, let the buns cool in the pan for about 10 minutes. Carefully invert the baking dish onto a serving platter to release the buns and their glaze.

    8. Spread the Pecan Topping

Finally, spread the pecan mixture over the top of the buns. This final step adds a delightful crunch and a burst of flavor to your Caramel Pecan Sticky Buns.
