How to Make Classic Tomato Basil Pasta Sauce

    1. Aromatic Garlic Base

Begin by heating the olive oil in a saucepan over medium heat. Add the crushed garlic clove and sauté gently for about 1 minute, being careful not to let it brown.

    2. Simmer the Sauce

Stir in the chopped tomatoes, vegetable stock powder or crumbled stock cube, and tomato purée. Add a teaspoon of sugar if desired to balance the acidity. Bring the mixture to a gentle boil. Then, reduce the heat to low and let the sauce simmer, uncovered, for approximately 5 minutes. During this time, occasionally stir the sauce to ensure even cooking and to prevent sticking.

    3. Basil Infusion

Finally, remove the sauce from the heat. Take the torn basil leaves and fold them into the sauce, allowing the warmth to release the herb's fragrant oils and infuse the sauce with its distinctive flavor.
