How to Make Korean-Style Stir-Fried Beef (Bulgogi)

1. Marinate the Beef

Blend the 4 garlic cloves, onion, ginger, soy sauce, 1 tablespoon sesame oil, 1 tablespoon honey, and black pepper in a blender or mini food processor until smooth to form the marinade. Combine with the beef, chopped scallion, and sesame seeds in a bowl, ensuring an even coat. Marinate for at least an hour, or overnight in the refrigerator.

2. Prepare the Sauce

Mix the doenjang, 2 teaspoons sesame oil, 1 minced garlic clove, sliced scallion, 1 teaspoon honey, rice vinegar, and gochujang in a small bowl until well combined. The sauce should be sweet with a touch of heat.

3. Cook the Beef

Heat a large skillet over high heat. Add the marinated beef and stir-fry until the juices evaporate and the meat is browned, about 2 to 5 minutes.

4. Serve

Arrange the cooked beef on a platter, sprinkle with extra sesame seeds, and serve with garnishes like grated carrots, sliced chiles, and fresh herbs. Accompany with crisp lettuce leaves and the prepared sauce for wrapping.
