How to Make Glossy Asian Greens Drizzled with Savory Oyster Sauce

1. Wash and Trim Vegetables

Start by washing and trimming the Chinese broccoli. Meanwhile, bring a large pot of water to a boil.

2. Prepare the Sauce

To prepare the sauce, heat 1 tablespoon of neutral oil in a small saucepan over medium heat. Add the oyster sauce, light soy sauce, 1 tablespoon of water, toasted sesame oil, sugar, and white pepper. Let the mixture simmer for about 30 seconds until you see the sauce bubble slightly.

3. Blanch the Greens

As the sauce simmers, add the remaining tablespoon of neutral oil to the boiling water before dropping in the greens. Blanch the greens for 90 seconds to 3 minutes, depending on their tenderness.

4. Drain and Serve

Once the greens are blanched, drain them well and arrange them on a serving dish. Pour the warm, savory sauce over the greens, making sure each piece is well coated. Serve immediately and enjoy.
