1. Preheat Oven
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.
2. Combine Dry Ingredients
In a medium bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt.
3. Cream Butter and Sugars
In a large bowl, beat the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar together until light and fluffy.
4. Add Egg and Vanilla
Add the egg and vanilla extract to the butter mixture and beat until well combined.
5. Combine Wet and Dry Ingredients
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
6. Fold in Chocolate Chips
Fold in the chocolate chips until evenly distributed throughout the dough.
7. Scoop Dough
Using a cookie scoop or tablespoon, drop portions of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
8. Bake Cookies
Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown and the centers are still soft.
9. Cool Cookies
Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
