How to Make Herbed Caprese Chicken Bake

    1. Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 375°F to get it ready for baking.

    2. Season the Chicken

Season the chicken thighs generously with salt and pepper on both sides.

    3. Brown the Chicken

In a large skillet, heat the avocado oil over medium-high heat. Once the oil is hot, place the chicken thighs in the skillet and cook them for about 3 minutes on each side until they get a nice golden brown crust.

    4. Transfer to Baking Dish

Transfer the browned chicken thighs to a glass or ceramic baking dish, arranging them in a single layer.

    5. Top with Mozzarella and Tomato

Top each piece of chicken with a slice of fresh mozzarella followed by a slice of tomato.

    6. Bake

Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for about 25 to 28 minutes until the cheese is fully melted and the chicken juices run clear.

    7. Broil

For an extra touch of flavor and texture, turn on the broiler for the last 2 to 3 minutes of baking to lightly brown the cheese.

    8. Add Fresh Basil

Remove the dish from the oven and sprinkle the chopped fresh basil over the top. Serve immediately.

    Pitfalls and tips

Season each layer with salt and pepper

the chicken, the tomatoes, and the cheese, to build depth of flavor, and consider a pinch of red pepper flakes for heat.
