How to Make Applesauce Cake with Bourbon Raisins

    1. Soak the Raisins

Place the raisins in a bowl and pour in enough bourbon to cover them. Let them soak until they are plump, which takes about 1 hour.

    2. Prepare the Cake Batter

In a mixing bowl, combine applesauce, flour, sugar, eggs, baking powder, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Use a mixer or a strong whisk to blend everything into a smooth batter.

    3. Add Raisins to Batter

Gently fold the bourbon-soaked raisins into the batter using a spoon or spatula to ensure the raisins are evenly distributed throughout.

    4. Bake the Cake

Pour the batter into a prepared cake pan and smooth the top. Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for approximately 35 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.

    5. Cool and Serve

Allow the cake to cool on a cooling rack before slicing and serving.
