How to Make Comforting Salisbury Steak

    1. Prepare Flour Mixture

Whisk together ⅓ cup of all-purpose flour and 2 tablespoons of nonfat dry milk powder in a small bowl.

    2. Season and Dredge Patties

Shape 1 pound of ground sirloin into four oval patties, season with ½ teaspoon of kosher salt, then dredge them in the flour mixture. Let them rest at room temperature.

    3. Cook Onions and Mushrooms

In a large sauté pan, melt 2 teaspoons of clarified butter over medium heat. Cook one diced yellow onion until brown and soft, then add a pint of sliced button mushrooms and sauté until browned and reduced.

    4. Brown the Patties

Increase the heat slightly, add 1 tablespoon of clarified butter, and cook the beef patties for about 4 minutes on one side to form a crust.

    5. Simmer with Sauce

Flip the patties over, add the onion and mushroom mixture, and pour a mixture of ⅔ cup of low-fat milk, ⅓ cup of red wine, and one beef ramen flavor packet over the patties. Simmer covered for 10 minutes.
