How to Make Sautéed Brussels Sprouts with Bacon and Onions

1. Prepare and Boil Brussels Sprouts

Trim the ends of the Brussels sprouts and cut them in half. Bring a pot of salted water to a boil and add the Brussels sprouts. Boil until tender and drain.

2. Cook Bacon

Heat olive oil in a heavy pan over medium heat. Add bacon slices and cook until browned but not crispy. Remove bacon and set aside.

3. Sauté Onions and Herbs

In the same pan, add the chopped onion and thyme or savory sprigs. Cook until the onion is soft and translucent. Optionally, add a squeeze of lemon juice.

4. Sauté Brussels Sprouts

Add the drained Brussels sprouts to the pan. Sauté over medium-high heat, stirring occasionally until they start to brown and caramelize.

5. Combine and Serve

Return the cooked bacon to the pan, mixing it with the Brussels sprouts. Serve warm.
