How to Make Sautéed Peppers with Capers

1. Sauté Onions

Heat olive oil in a heavy pan over medium heat. Once the oil is shimmering, add the sliced onion. Stir the onions for about four minutes until they become translucent and start to soften.

2. Add Peppers and Season

Add the sliced peppers to the pan and season with salt. Cook the peppers for about four to six minutes until they start to soften, stirring occasionally.

3. Include Garlic and Capers

Stir in the chopped garlic and capers. Let these ingredients cook with the peppers for a few minutes, allowing the garlic to become fragrant and the capers to impart their flavor.

4. Finish with Herbs

Toss in the freshly chopped basil, giving the dish a fresh, herbal aroma. Adjust the seasoning if necessary.

5. Serve

Drizzle some extra-virgin olive oil over the finished dish and serve warm.
