How to Make Green Beans with Charred Onions

1. Blanch Green Beans

Bring a large pot of salted water to a rolling boil. Blanch the green beans for about 3 to 5 minutes until vibrant and tender-crisp. Drain and set aside.

2. Char Onions

Slice the sweet onions into medium-thick rounds. Heat a sauté pan over medium-high heat and add the onions. Char them until they have nice charred spots but still retain some crunch. Add the blanched beans to the pan to warm them through.

3. Prepare Dressing and Combine

In a small bowl, whisk together balsamic vinegar, orange juice, and olive oil. Pour the dressing over the warm green beans and charred onions, coating everything evenly. Sprinkle with Maldon salt and let stand for 10 minutes to an hour before serving at room temperature.
