How to Make French Green Beans with Shallot Butter

1. Boil Green Beans

Set a pot of 4 cups of water over high heat and bring it to a rolling boil. Add the cleaned green beans and cover with a lid, cooking for 3 to 5 minutes until they are tender yet crisp.

2. Cooling the Beans

Drain the green beans and rinse them under cold water to halt the cooking process and maintain their crunch.

3. Prepare Shallot Butter

In a skillet, melt the butter over medium heat and add the chopped shallots, cooking until they turn golden-brown, about one minute.

4. Sauté Beans with Shallot Butter

Add the green beans to the skillet with the shallots, seasoning with salt and black pepper. Briefly sauté to combine flavors.

5. Finish with Lemon Juice

Just before serving, sprinkle a splash of lemon juice over the beans to brighten the dish.
