How to Make Savory Herbed Bread Stuffing Supreme

1. Prep the Oven and Baking Dish

Center a rack and preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Generously butter a 15x10-inch baking dish and set aside.

2. Sauté Vegetables

In a large skillet over medium-high heat, melt the 12 tablespoons of butter. Add chopped celery and minced onion, sautéing until softened—about 10 minutes.

3. Herb Infusion

Mix in parsley, sage, thyme, and marjoram, cooking until the aroma is released, roughly 1 minute. Transfer the herbed vegetables to a very large mixing bowl.

4. Combine and Bake

To the herbed vegetables, gently fold in the dried bread cubes, chicken stock or broth, beaten eggs, salt, and pepper, ensuring an even distribution of ingredients. Transfer the mixture to the prepared baking dish. Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes. Then, remove the foil and continue baking until the top is golden brown, about 30 minutes more. Let it cool for 10 minutes before serving.
