How to Make Spicy Basil Beef Stir-Fry

1. Prep Work

Ensure beef is sliced into thin strips if not pre-cut. Finely slice the red chilli after deseeding.

2. Sauté Beef and Chilli

Heat a wok or large frying pan over high heat until it reaches a smoking point. Add 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil, swirling it around to coat the pan. Immediately add the beef strips and sliced chilli to the hot oil. Sauté the mixture, stirring constantly, until the beef is lightly browned (about 3 minutes).

3. Add Sauce

Drizzle the 2 tablespoons of oyster sauce over the browned beef. Continue to cook, stirring the meat and sauce together until the beef is well-coated and the sauce is heated through.

4. Finish with Basil

Take the pan off the heat and gently stir in the handful of basil leaves until just wilted.

5. Serve

Serve the stir-fry immediately over a bed of plain rice to enjoy the full spectrum of flavors.
