How to Make Spicy Mustard Shrimp

    1. Prepare the Shrimp

Peel and devein the shrimp. Wash them under cold running water and pat them dry with a paper towel. Set the shrimp aside.

    2. Make the Mustard Seed Paste

In a small bowl, combine the crushed mustard seeds, ground turmeric, tomato sauce, and 2 tablespoons of water. Mix well and set aside.

    3. Heat the Oil and Aromatics

Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the peeled garlic cloves, sliced fresh ginger, and hot dried red pepper. Stir until the ingredients begin to darken and release their aromas.

    4. Cook the Shrimp

Add the shrimp to the skillet. Stir continuously until they turn pink and opaque, about a few minutes.

    5. Add Mustard Seed Paste and Seasoning

Add the mustard seed paste to the skillet. Reduce the heat to moderate low and stir to coat the shrimp evenly. Season with salt, freshly ground pepper, and lemon juice. Continue to stir and cook for another 2 minutes.

    6. Serve

Serve the Spicy Mustard Shrimp Delight on a heated platter. It pairs wonderfully with rice or hot pooris, and you can also serve it alongside cabbage and peas for a complete meal.
