How to Make Caprese Salad

1. Slice Fresh Mozzarella

Begin by cutting the fresh mozzarella into ½-inch-thick slices. Place these slices onto a serving platter, ensuring they are spread out evenly. As you slice the mozzarella, be sure to reserve any milky liquid that may seep out.

2. Slice Tomatoes

Take your assorted ripe tomatoes and slice them into your desired sizes. Arrange these tomato slices on the serving platter alongside the mozzarella.

3. Drizzle Vinegar and Oil

Drizzle the champagne vinegar and extra virgin olive oil over the tomatoes and mozzarella.

4. Add Fresh Basil

Scatter the fresh basil leaves over the tomatoes and mozzarella.

5. Season with Salt

Finish by sprinkling Maldon or another flaky sea salt over the dish. If you reserved any of the milky liquid from the cheese, drizzle it over the top for an extra touch of creaminess.
