A simple method to achieve perfectly fluffy quinoa, ideal as a side dish or a base for your favorite meals.
1. Rinse Quinoa
Rinse 1 cup of quinoa thoroughly under cold water using a sieve until the water runs clear.
2. Boil Water
Bring 2 cups of water to a boil in a medium saucepan over high heat.
3. Cook Quinoa
Add the rinsed quinoa and ½ teaspoon of coarse kosher salt to the boiling water. Stir the mixture just once to combine, then reduce the heat to low, cover the saucepan with a lid, and let it simmer gently for about 20 minutes until the quinoa absorbs all the water and becomes tender.
4. Season and Fluff
Remove the saucepan from the heat. Drizzle a bit of olive oil over the quinoa, then season it with salt and freshly ground pepper to taste. Use a fork to fluff the quinoa gently, tossing it as you do so.
