1. Cook Linguine
Start by bringing a large pot of salted water to a boil. Once boiling, add the linguine and cook according to the package instructions until it's al dente.
2. Sauté Garlic
While the pasta is cooking, heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the finely chopped garlic to the skillet and sauté for about 2-3 minutes until the garlic becomes fragrant and golden, being careful not to let it burn.
3. Add Lemon Zest and Juice
Once the garlic is ready, add the lemon zest to the skillet. Immediately after, pour in the lemon juice and stir to combine. Turn off the heat but leave the skillet on the stove to keep the mixture warm.
4. Combine Pasta and Sauce
When the linguine is cooked, reserve a cup of the pasta water before draining. Drain the pasta and add it directly to the skillet with the lemon-garlic mixture. Toss everything together gently, ensuring each strand of pasta is coated with the zesty sauce. If the pasta looks a bit dry, add a splash of the reserved pasta water until you reach the desired consistency.
5. Add Parmesan and Parsley
Finally, sprinkle the grated Parmesan cheese and chopped parsley over the pasta. Toss once more to combine everything evenly. Taste and season with salt and pepper as needed. Serve immediately.
