How to Make Lemon-Caper Butter-Baked Tilapia

1. Oven Preheating

Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Take a small pat of butter and evenly coat the bottom of an 8-inch baking dish.

2. Season the Fish

Using paper towels, gently pat the tilapia fillets dry. Season them liberally with pink Himalayan salt and freshly cracked black pepper on both sides, then arrange the seasoned fillets in the buttered baking dish.

3. Melt Butter with Garlic

Heat a medium skillet over medium heat and melt the 4 tablespoons of butter. Stir in the minced garlic, sautéing for 3 to 5 minutes until it is golden and fragrant, taking care not to let it burn.

4. Infuse with Lemon

Remove the skillet from the heat. Stir in the freshly grated lemon zest and 2 tablespoons of the lemon juice, blending well to create your lemon-butter sauce.

5. Assemble for Baking

Drizzle the aromatic lemon-butter sauce generously over the tilapia fillets in the baking dish. Scatter the chopped capers throughout the dish, ensuring they are evenly distributed.

6. Bake to Perfection

Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for 12 to 15 minutes, or until the tilapia is thoroughly cooked and flakes easily with a fork.
