How to Make Balsamic-Infused Strawberry Coulis

1. Prepare Balsamic Syrup

Begin by combining the balsamic vinegar and brown sugar in a large frying pan over medium heat. As the mixture heats up, give it a gentle stir. Once it starts to simmer, allow it to continue bubbling gently for about a minute to thicken and develop a syrupy consistency.

2. Add Strawberries

Add the strawberries to the pan, stirring them in gently to coat them with the balsamic syrup. Allow the strawberries to simmer for about 6 to 8 minutes. Stirring gently ensures the strawberries maintain their shape without turning mushy. You'll know they are ready when they start to collapse but still hold together.

3. Finish and Season

Once the strawberries have reached the desired consistency, remove the pan from the heat and stir in the vanilla extract and a tiny pinch of kosher salt. Taste the coulis and adjust the seasoning if needed. Let it cool slightly before serving.
