1. Chill Glasses
Place six martini glasses in the freezer at least one hour before you plan to serve the drinks.
2. Prepare Mixture
Combine gin, pomegranate juice, freshly squeezed lime juice, and simple syrup in a large pitcher, stirring well.
3. Shake Cocktail
Fill a cocktail shaker halfway with ice and three-quarters full with the drink mixture. Shake vigorously for about 15 seconds until well-chilled and slightly frothy.
4. Serve
Pour the shaken mixture into the frosted martini glasses, garnish each drink with a teaspoon of pomegranate seeds and a slice of lime.
Freshly squeezed juice will elevate the drink's brightness and complexity. To juice a pomegranate, cut it in half, scoop out the seeds, and use a juicer or crush the seeds with a muddler in a fine-mesh sieve.
A gin with citrus and floral notes complements the sweetness of the pomegranate juice beautifully. Hendrick’s or Bombay Sapphire are recommended.
Fresh lime juice is a must. Balance is key, and typically, equal parts lime to pomegranate juice creates a harmonious blend.
Adjust the simple syrup based on the pomegranate juice's sweetness. For an added layer of flavor, consider infusing the syrup with rosemary or ginger.
Taste as you go, especially when making sweetness or tartness adjustments. Aim for a balanced sip.
