How to Make Parmesan Lace Crisps

1. Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). While the oven is heating, line a baking sheet with a silicone baking mat, parchment paper, or use a nonstick baking sheet to prevent sticking.

2. Prepare Cheese Mounds

Take the shredded cheese and create four evenly spaced piles on the prepared baking sheet. Each pile should contain about the same amount of cheese to ensure even cooking. Using your fingers or a fork, gently spread each pile into a thin, even layer, approximately 4 inches across. This will help the cheese bake into a crisp, lacy wafer.

3. Bake the Cheese

Place the baking sheet in the oven. Bake the cheese for 6 to 9 minutes, keeping a close eye on them. You'll know they're ready when the cheese melts, bubbles slightly, and starts to turn a light golden brown. This high temperature ensures the cheese melts evenly and crisps up beautifully.

4. Cool and Serve

When the cheese has reached the right color and texture, remove the baking sheet from the oven and let the crisps set for a few seconds. Carefully slide a very thin spatula under each crisp and transfer them to a cooling rack to cool completely. If you’re not serving the crisps immediately, store them in an airtight tin, layered between paper towels to maintain their crispness. Enjoy your Parmesan Lace Crisps as a delightful snack or a sophisticated garnish!
