How to Make Hearty Bacon Beef and Cheese Bake

1. Preheat Oven

Preheat your oven to 350°F (177°C) to get it ready for baking.

2. Cook Bacon

In a large skillet, cook the bacon over medium heat for about 8 minutes until it is crispy. Transfer the bacon to a paper towel-lined plate to drain and cool for about 5 minutes, then chop it into small pieces on a cutting board.

3. Cook Ground Beef

While the bacon is cooling, heat 1 tablespoon of ghee in a second large skillet over medium heat. Add the ground beef, season it with pink salt and freshly ground black pepper, and cook it for about 8 minutes until it is browned. Browning the beef enhances its flavor, making your dish even more delicious. Once browned, drain any excess fat from the skillet.

4. Combine Bacon and Beef

Combine the chopped bacon with the cooked ground beef in the skillet, mixing them well together.

5. Prepare Baking Dish

Take a 9-by-13-inch baking dish and coat it with the remaining 1 tablespoon of ghee. This will prevent the mixture from sticking to the dish. Spread the meat-and-bacon mixture evenly in the baking dish to create the first layer.

6. Prepare Egg Mixture

In a medium bowl, whisk together the heavy cream, lightly beaten eggs, and half of the shredded cheese. Season this mixture with a bit of pink salt and black pepper. Pour the mixture evenly over the meat-and-bacon layer in the baking dish. Sprinkle the remaining cheese on top.

7. Bake

Place the baking dish in the oven and bake for 30 minutes at 350°F (177°C). This will set the mixture and melt the cheese, resulting in a hearty, flavorful bake. You’ll know it’s ready when the cheese on top is melted and lightly browned.

8. Cool and Serve

Once baked, let the dish sit for about 5 minutes on a cooling rack to set and make it easier to cut. Finally, cut the bake into portions and serve. Enjoy your Hearty Bacon Beef and Cheese Bake!
