How to Make Cuban Flank Steak with Lime and Fresh Mango

    1. Season and Sear the Steak

Generously season the flank steak with salt and freshly ground black pepper, then set aside. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over high heat. Once the oil is shimmering, lay the seasoned steak in the skillet and cook for about 4 to 5 minutes on each side until a golden-brown crust forms. Transfer the steak to a cutting board to rest for about 5 minutes.

    2. Prepare the Mango Salsa

In a bowl, combine the juice of 2 limes, 1 large peeled and diced mango, 1/4 cup of chopped fresh cilantro, 1/4 cup of thinly sliced red onion, and 1 finely chopped jalapeño. Mix gently to combine without breaking down the mango pieces.

    3. Serve the Dish

Slice the rested steak thinly against the grain, arrange the slices on a serving platter, and top with the mango salsa. Serve immediately.
