1. Combine Dry Ingredients
In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, yeast, and salt until well mixed.
2. Warm Milk and Butter
Heat milk in a saucepan over medium-low heat until warm (about 95°F), roughly 1-2 minutes. Add 3 tablespoons of butter and melt. Remove from heat once melted. Let cool if hotter than 95°F.
3. Mix Wet Ingredients
In another bowl, lightly whisk the eggs. Gradually mix the eggs into the milk mixture, then combine with the dry ingredients in the large bowl. Stir with a spoon or spatula until it forms a sticky dough. If too dry, add extra milk, 1 tablespoon at a time.
4. First Rise
Cover the dough with plastic wrap. Let it rise in a warm area until it doubles in size, about 2 to 2 1/2 hours.
5. Shape and Second Rise
Grease a 9x9-inch pan with butter. Divide the dough into 9 pieces, roll into balls, and place in the pan spaced apart. Cover with greased plastic wrap. Let them rise for 35-45 minutes until puffy and touching.
6. Preheat and Bake
Preheat the oven to 375°F. Melt the remaining butter. Uncover the rolls, brush with half the butter, and bake for 20-24 minutes until golden brown. Halfway through, brush with more butter and rotate the pan.
7. Final Touch
Once baked, brush with the remaining butter. Cool for 5 minutes before serving warm.
