A quick and easy recipe for warm, soft, and buttery drop biscuits.
All Purpose Flour, sifted
cups
teaspoons
teaspoons
Unsalted Butter, cold, cubed
0.25 sticks
cups
1. Preheat Oven and Prepare Baking Sheet
Preheat the oven to 450°F (232°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it.
2. Combine Dry Ingredients
In a large mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt. Whisk together to distribute the ingredients evenly.
3. Cut in the Butter
Add the cold, cubed unsalted butter to the dry ingredients. Using a pastry cutter or your fingers, cut the butter into the flour until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
4. Add Milk and Form Dough
Pour the milk into the flour-butter mixture. Gently stir with a spoon until just combined. The dough should be sticky and not overworked.
5. Drop Biscuits onto Baking Sheet
Using a spoon or a cookie scoop, drop heaping tablespoons of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spaced about 2 inches apart.
6. Bake the Biscuits
Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the biscuits are golden brown on the top. Let them cool slightly on the baking sheet before serving.
