How to Make Cream Biscuits

1. Preheat Oven

Preheat your oven to 400°F to ensure even baking and a golden color.

2. Combine Dry Ingredients

In a large bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, salt, sugar, and baking powder. Stir these dry ingredients together until well mixed.

3. Add Butter

Work in the cold butter into the flour mixture using fingers or a pastry blender until it's the size of small peas, creating flaky layers in the biscuits.

4. Add Heavy Cream

Pour in the heavy cream, reserving 1 tablespoon for later, and stir with a fork until the dough just comes together.

5. Knead and Cut Dough

Turn the dough out onto a floured board, gently knead a couple of times, roll out to about ¾ inch thick, and cut into 1½-inch circles or squares.

6. Prepare for Baking

Place the biscuits on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and brush the tops with the reserved heavy cream.

7. Bake

Bake in the preheated oven for about 17 minutes, or until golden and cooked through.
