How to Make Decadent Banana-Walnut Chocolate Chip Bread

    1. Preheat and Prep

Preheat the oven to 190°C (170°C fan/gas mark 5). Line a 900g/2lb loaf tin with baking parchment.

    2. Batter Up

In a large bowl, use a fork to mash the bananas with the caster sugar until thoroughly combined. Crack in the eggs and blend with an electric hand whisk until fully incorporated. Add the softened butter and whisk for a few minutes more, ensuring a smooth and uniform batter.

    3. Fold and Mix

Sift in the flour and baking powder, and gently fold into the mixture with a spatula. Stir in the walnut pieces and chocolate chips until evenly distributed.

    4. Bake the Loaf

Pour the batter into the prepared loaf tin, smoothing out the top. Bake for 65 minutes, or until a skewer inserted into the center comes out clean.

    5. Cool and Serve

Allow to cool slightly in the tin before turning out. Serve in thick slices, warm or at room temperature.
