How to Make No-Knead Dinner Rolls

    1. Combine Dry Ingredients

In a large bowl, stir together 3 1/2 cups of all-purpose flour with 2 tablespoons of granulated sugar, 2 1/2 teaspoons of instant yeast, and 1 1/2 teaspoons of kosher salt to evenly distribute the dry ingredients.

    2. Heat Milk and Melt Butter

Heat 2/3 cup of whole milk in a small saucepan over medium-low heat for about 1 to 2 minutes. You want the milk warm, around 95 degrees, to help activate the yeast. In another saucepan, melt 3 tablespoons of unsalted butter.

    3. Combine Wet and Dry Mixtures

Whisk two large eggs until they are well beaten. Gradually whisk the eggs into the warm milk mixture, ensuring they combine smoothly. Pour this wet mixture into the bowl with your flour mixture. Use a whisk to blend everything until you have a sticky dough. If the dough seems too dry, add additional milk, one tablespoon at a time, until the desired consistency is achieved.

    4. First Rise

Cover the dough with plastic wrap and allow it to rise in a warm place for 2 to 2 1/2 hours. During this time, the yeast ferments the dough, creating gas bubbles that enable the dough to double in size and will give your rolls their delightful fluffiness.

    5. Shape and Second Rise

Once the dough has risen, prepare a 9-by-9-inch baking pan by greasing it with butter. Divide the dough into portions and shape them into round rolls. Place them in the prepared pan about 1/4 to 1/2-inch apart. Cover the pan with greased plastic wrap and let the rolls rise again for 35-45 minutes. They should puff up and begin to touch each other. This second rise helps develop the rolls' texture and ensures they are soft and airy.

    6. Preheat Oven and Bake

Preheat your oven to 375 degrees while the rolls complete their second rise. Melt the remaining 3 tablespoons of butter in a small pot or microwave. Once the rolls have sufficiently risen and your oven is hot, brush them with half of the melted butter. Bake them for 20-24 minutes. Halfway through the baking time, rotate the pan to ensure even browning and brush with the butter again.

    7. Final Touch and Serve

After baking, brush the rolls with the remaining butter to give them a beautiful sheen and a rich flavor. Let them cool for at least 5 minutes before serving. These no-knead dinner rolls are best enjoyed warm, filling your kitchen with the comforting aroma of freshly baked bread.
