How to Make Green Beans with Tomatoes & Bacon

1. Cook Bacon

Heat a large saucepan over medium heat. Add the chopped bacon and two tablespoons of extra-virgin olive oil. Cook the bacon for about five minutes until it becomes crispy.

2. Add Onion and Garlic

Stir in the finely chopped red onion and thinly sliced garlic. Season with a pinch of kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper. Cook for about five minutes, until the onions are translucent and the bacon is nicely browned.

3. Simmer Green Beans, Tomatoes, and Broth

Add the green beans, diced tomatoes, and chicken broth to the saucepan. Increase the heat to high to bring to a boil, then reduce to low and simmer for about 45 minutes.

4. Season and Serve

Taste the dish and adjust the seasoning with salt and pepper as needed. Serve warm.
