How to Make Olesh-Style Bok Choy

1. Caramelize the Onions

Begin by adding a generous splash of olive oil to a large skillet set over medium heat. Introduce the thinly sliced onion and sprinkle with the salt. Allow the onions to cook for about 30 minutes, stirring occasionally, until they turn golden-brown.

2. Prepare the Bok Choy

While the onions are caramelizing, prepare the bok choy by thoroughly rinsing and patting it dry. Then chop the bok choy into bite-sized pieces, separating the stalks from the leaves if necessary.

3. Cook the Bok Choy

Once the onions have caramelized, add the bok choy to the skillet. Stir gently to combine with the caramelized onions. Lower the heat and allow the bok choy to cook slowly for 45 to 60 minutes until it becomes tender.

4. Serve

Transfer the caramelized onions and bok choy mixture into shallow bowls and serve.
