How to Make Crispy Golden Fish Patties

    1. Blend Ingredients

Combine the tilapia, shallots, garlic, ginger, and salt in a food processor. Blend until the mixture becomes a smooth, even paste.

    2. Shape Patties

Lightly oil a large plate. Take portions of the fish mixture and form them into patties. Flatten each ball to about 1.5 inches in diameter. You should get around 15 to 18 patties.

    3. Heat Oil

Heat a generous amount of peanut oil in a large heavy skillet over medium-high heat until hot and shimmering.

    4. Fry Patties

Carefully place the patties into the skillet, frying them in batches to avoid overcrowding. Fry each side for about 3 to 4 minutes until golden and crispy. Use a spatula to flip them.

    5. Drain Excess Oil

Transfer the patties to a plate lined with paper towels to drain excess oil. Repeat the frying process for the remaining patties.

    6. Serve

Serve the crispy golden fish patties on a bed of lettuce leaves with Tart-Sweet Chile-Garlic Sauce.
