How to Make Pork Chops with a Sweet and Savory Glaze

    1. Prepare Glaze

In a small bowl, whisk together the water, cherry preserves, and whole-grain mustard to create a jammy-mustard glaze.

    2. Season Pork Chops

Pat the pork chops dry with paper towels and season generously with kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper.

    3. Sear Pork Chops

Heat the canola oil in a cast-iron skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the seasoned pork chops and cook undisturbed for 4 to 5 minutes until the first side is browned.

    4. Flip and Glaze

Reduce the heat to medium, flip the pork chops, and cook for another 1 to 2 minutes. Pour the jammy-mustard mixture over the pork chops and turn off the heat. Allow the chops to rest in the skillet for 5 minutes.

    5. Thicken Glaze

Place the skillet over medium heat and simmer the sauce for 1 to 3 minutes until it thickens. Scrape up any browned bits from the skillet to incorporate them into the glaze. Adjust seasoning if necessary.
