How to Make Herb-Buttered Oven-Baked Pork Chops

1. Preheat Oven

Preheat your oven to 350°F. Lightly coat a baking dish with butter to prevent the pork chops from sticking.

2. Prepare Pork Chops

Pat the pork chops dry with a paper towel. Place them in the prepared baking dish, ensuring they are evenly spaced.

3. Season Pork Chops

Season the pork chops generously with pink salt, freshly ground black pepper, and dried Italian seasoning. Sprinkle the chopped fresh parsley over the pork chops.

4. Add Olive Oil and Butter

Drizzle the olive oil over the seasoned pork chops. Top each pork chop with a pat of butter.

5. Bake Pork Chops

Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for 20 to 25 minutes. You'll know the pork chops are done when their juices run clear.

6. Serve Pork Chops

Once baked, transfer the pork chops to plates and spoon some of the buttery juices from the baking dish over them. Serve hot.

Variations

Herb and Flavor Variants

Change the herb and flavor profile to match different cuisines

Protein Swap

Replace pork chops with chicken breasts or thighs, beef steaks, lamb chops, or even firm fish fillets like salmon. Adjust cooking times accordingly to ensure proper doneness.

Mustard Crust

Before adding the herb butter, spread a thin layer of Dijon or whole-grain mustard on the chops. The tangy sharpness of the mustard will add a welcome kick and create a delicious crust as it bakes.

Citrus Zest

Incorporate the zest of lemon, orange, or lime into the herb butter for a fresh, zesty pop. The brightness of the citrus will cut through the richness of the butter and enhance the herbs.

Balsamic Glaze

During the last few minutes of cooking, brush the pork chops with a balsamic reduction. This will add a sweet and tangy glaze that complements the savory butter and herbs.
