How to Make Golden Flaky Puff Pastry Bites

1. Preheat Oven

Preheat your oven to 400°F. While the oven is heating up, line a sheet pan with parchment paper to prevent sticking and ensure easy cleanup.

2. Prepare Work Surface

Lightly dust your work surface with all-purpose flour. Unfold the defrosted puff pastry sheet and place it on the floured surface. Using a rolling pin, gently roll the pastry to smooth out any folds, but be careful not to make it too thin.

3. Cut Shapes

Using a star-shaped or fluted round cookie cutter, cut the puff pastry into 12 pieces. Arrange these cutouts on the prepared sheet pan, spacing them slightly apart.

4. Apply Egg Wash

In a small bowl, beat together the extra-large egg with the tablespoon of heavy cream to make the egg wash. Brush the tops of the pastry cutouts with the egg wash.
