How to Make Bucatini with Rustic Bacon-Tomato Sauce

1. Heat Olive Oil and Cook Bacon

Pour 2 tablespoons of olive oil into a heavy pan and heat over medium heat. Add the bacon pieces and cook until the fat is rendered and the meat is lightly browned. Remove the bacon from the pan and set aside.

2. Cook Onion

Add the sliced onion to the same pan and cook over medium heat until soft, about 10 minutes.

3. Add Tomatoes and Salt

Add the chopped tomatoes and a pinch of salt to the pan. Stir everything together and let it cook over low heat for 10 minutes.

4. Combine and Finish

Return the reserved bacon to the pan and let it cook for another 2 to 3 minutes. Taste the sauce and adjust the salt if necessary.
