How to Make Wholesome Banana-Apple Oat Squares

    1. Preheat & Prep Tin

Preheat the oven to 160C/140C with fan/gas mark 3. Grease a 20cm square baking tin and line it with parchment paper for easy removal of the flapjacks.

    2. Melt Ingredients

In a small saucepan over low heat, melt the butter, peanut butter, and honey or maple syrup together until smooth and well combined.

    3. Integrate Fruits

Add the mashed bananas and grated apple into the saucepan, along with 100ml of hot water, and stir the mixture until thoroughly combined.

    4. Mix Oats & Fruits

In a large mixing bowl, add the rolled oats, chopped dried apricots, raisins, and mixed seeds.

    5. Mix Wet & Dry

Pour the wet banana-apple mixture into the bowl with the oats and dried fruits. Stir until all the dry ingredients are evenly coated.

    6. Bake the Mixture

Transfer the mixture into the prepared tin, spreading it out evenly and smoothing the surface. Bake in the preheated oven for 55 minutes, or until the top turns a beautiful golden color.

    7. Cooling Time

Allow the baked oat mixture to cool completely in the tin. Once cooled, cut into 12 equally-sized squares.
