How to Make Versatile Herbed Meatballs

1. Combine Ingredients

Start by gently combining the ground meat, panko bread crumbs, egg, and kosher salt in a large bowl. Add black pepper, minced garlic, minced onion, and freshly chopped parsley. Mix all these ingredients just until they are well incorporated.

2. Form Meatballs

Roll the mixture into 1.5-inch balls using your hands, placing each meatball on a baking sheet as you go.

3. Cook Meatballs

To cook the meatballs, you can either broil them by placing the baking sheet under the broiler for 7 to 10 minutes until they are golden and firm, or fry them in a skillet with a bit of olive oil until they are deeply browned on all sides.

4. Finish and Serve

Once the meatballs are cooked, sprinkle them with a little more kosher salt before serving.

Serve meatballs over pasta, in sandwiches, as appetizers, or on top of grains, paired with complementary sauces or dressings.

Incorporate Cheese

Mix in cheeses such as Parmesan, feta, smoked gouda, or mozzarella for added flavor and texture.

Cooking Methods

Choose health-conscious methods like baking, simmering in sauce, or grilling for different textures and flavors.
