How to Make Perfectly Cooked Eggs: Hard and Soft

    1. Bring Eggs to Room Temperature

Allow the eggs to come to room temperature before cooking to ensure even cooking and to reduce the risk of cracking.

    2. Boil and Simmer Water

Fill a pot with water and bring it to a boil. Once boiling, reduce the heat to maintain a gentle simmer.

    3. Cook the Eggs

Using a slotted spoon, gently lower the room-temperature eggs into the simmering water. For hard-cooked eggs, let them simmer for 9 minutes. For soft-cooked eggs, simmer for 5 minutes.

    4. Cooling the Eggs

After the eggs are cooked, transfer them to a bowl of ice water using the slotted spoon to stop the cooking process and make peeling easier.

    5. Peel and Enjoy

Once the eggs are cool enough to handle, gently crack and peel the shells away. If you've prepared soft-cooked eggs, enjoy them warm. Hard-cooked eggs can be eaten warm or stored for later use.
