1. Boil Water
Fill a saucepan with about an inch of water and bring the water to a rolling boil over high heat.
2. Add Eggs to Boiling Water
Carefully lower the eggs into the boiling water using a slotted spoon or steamer basket.
3. Boil Eggs for Soft Yolks
Boil the eggs for 6 minutes for a warm, liquid yolk with firm whites.
4. Boil Eggs for Medium-Soft Yolks
Boil the eggs for 8 and a half minutes for a translucent, fudgy yolk.
5. Boil Eggs for Firm Yolks
Boil the eggs for 11 minutes for a yolk that's just set with a bit of give.
6. Remove from Heat and Cool
Once the desired cooking time is reached, remove the saucepan from heat. If enjoying immediately, drain the eggs, or let them cool down before storing.
Soft-boiled (5-6 minutes), Medium-boiled (7-8 minutes), Hard-boiled (9-12 minutes), using an accurate timer for consistency.
