How to Make Chocolate-Pretzel Rice Krispies Treats

1. Prepare Baking Pan

Grab a 9-inch square baking pan and line it with foil for easy removal of the treats later, then give it a good coat with nonstick cooking spray to prevent sticking.

2. Melt Butter and Marshmallows

In a large saucepan, melt the butter over low heat. Once melted, add the marshmallows and stir steadily until the mixture is smooth and evenly combined.

3. Combine with Rice Krispies and Pretzels

Remove the saucepan from the heat. Add the Rice Krispies cereal and the broken mini-pretzels to the marshmallow mixture and stir until fully coated.

4. Press into Pan and Add Chocolate

Transfer the mixture to the prepared pan, pressing it down firmly into an even layer. Sprinkle the chopped semisweet chocolate over the top, pressing lightly to adhere the chocolate to the mixture.

5. Finish with Sea Salt and Cool

Sprinkle a bit of flaky sea salt over the chocolate layer. Allow the creation to cool, then cut into squares before serving.
