How to Make Caramelized Citrus Bananas with Almond Crunch

    1. Preheat Broiler

Preheat your broiler to get it ready for caramelizing the bananas.

    2. Prepare Baking Dish

Brush a small, flameproof baking dish with half of the melted butter.

    3. Add Bananas

Split the bananas lengthwise and lay them flat in the prepared baking dish.

    4. Add Citrus Mixture

Mix the lemon juice and orange juice in a small bowl. Pour this mixture over the bananas.

    5. Brush with Butter and Add Sugar

Brush the bananas with the remaining melted butter, then sprinkle the brown sugar evenly over them.

    6. Broil Bananas

Place the baking dish under the broiler and broil the bananas for about 4 minutes, until they are lightly browned and the sugar is caramelized.

    7. Add Almonds

Sprinkle the blanched slivered almonds over the bananas and return the dish to the broiler for another 1-2 minutes, just until the almonds are toasted.

    8. Serve

Remove the baking dish from the broiler and serve the caramelized citrus bananas immediately.
