How to Make Roasted Dates with Bittersweet Chocolate and Orange

1. Stuff Dates with Chocolate

Gently tuck a piece of bittersweet chocolate into each pitted Medjool date, making sure the chocolate fits snugly inside.

2. Heat Skillet and Add Olive Oil

Warm a skillet over medium heat and add a tablespoon of extra-virgin olive oil, preparing it for searing the dates.

3. Sear the Dates

Place the stuffed dates into the warm skillet and let them sear for 1 to 2 minutes, until the skin starts to crisp and the chocolate softens, then transfer the dates to a serving platter.

4. Finish with Orange Zest, Olive Oil, and Salt

Zest half an orange over the warm dates, drizzle with the remaining tablespoon of olive oil, and finish with a pinch of flake salt.
